The mission of the Computer Museum is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of computing at the University of Waterloo and in the surrounding community.

Our primary focus is artifacts from 1957, when the University of Waterloo was founded, to the present. However, many artifacts from before this date are still relevant, and we explicitly include non-electronic computing machinery and methods, such as our slide-rule exhibit.

The museum interprets and presents the history of computing at UW via physical and online exhibits, research, teaching, public events and publications. It exists to encourage the UW community to recognize, reflect and interpret its own history.
